Reel Dope is a Hip Hop music video production company. I worked with creators Joe Marchetti and John Bechtold to design a stand-out brand. Their goal is to push what the Rochester rap scene can do and get our city’s name on the map. Reel Dope is here to help hip hop artist’s visuals reflect their music.

After turning my garage into a shotty screen printing studio, we cranked out about 100 shirts to give to people who worked with Reel Dope to get our name out there. The shirts were thrifted which meant we could make these for dirt cheap and really experiment with shirt and ink color combos.

All those business cards sitting in your wallet right now are cool and all, but I know you’re eventually going to throw them out. Why not make them useful? Reel Dope business cards are printed on 100% unbleached hemp paper, perforated for your convenience. Don’t know why they’re perforated? Don’t worry about it and maybe make a tiny fan with it, up to you.

We're a group of friends who work best as a team. Each person has a different creative background and vision for each project which means for some real dope work.

My role for Reel Dope is design all branding elements as well as create animations for the music videos. The video above is my visual interpretation of "Cruz" by TC Beats. TC let me run wild with my imagination and create a video that kept people interested and listening.

Kid the Great made the trip up from Philadelphia to shoot a video with us. We had one night to shoot and no budget but with everyone working so passionately to make a great video we got it done. I helped compose shots and designed the title sequence and credit slide as well as being hand number 5.

LNesu- Needed you. This animation is part of a bigger music video. The animations poke fun at television and media as a means to escape and sink into the outrageousness of everything but you.

The final animation was dreamy and disturbing. You laugh when you first watch it but hopefully when you think more about the message you pick up on the more cynical meanings.

Beatbattle was an event hosted by Reel Dope and Mr.Mumblz. Producers and Beat mixers from around Rochester signed up and competed in a bracket style battle. Between rounds, our nuetral host Mr.Mumblz spun records and played his beats. At the end of the night the final winner was awarded the title and prizes. Prizes included a music video from us, analog synth from Sound Source  and a gift card to Capacity Worldwide. Me and joe made the casette tape lights because anyone serious about beatmixing puts them on tapes. The red side and blue side helped the audience know who was playing at the time.

Instagram is crucial for Reel Dope's visibility. I made sure to make the assets we posted colorful and funky to make people stop scrolling.
