During 2019 RIT's galleries came up with two brand new jurried art shows that called for artwork submitions. The show's brands needed to get students interested in and wonder about the new shows. They had to be cool enough to make people want to take part in this new thing, but also look like it has its sh*t together and is an organized and important event.

Chase the case was an open call for artwork that was to fit inside of 3 display cases at RIT. Students had the option to create whatever they wanted as long as they could complete it in a week. I wanted to play with depth and variety in my design and bring a sense of surealism that got students thinking outside the box (pun intended).

A new juried exhibition in Bevier Gallery, “RIT Art Out,” highlights a variety of artwork by students in the College of Art and Design and across campus.

An open call for submissions led to more than 380 entries from 170 students all over RIT. A selection of works in a wide range of media from 36 of those students is being displayed in the gallery from Nov. 15 to Dec. 15. The opening reception is set for 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 15.

“Art Out” offers a small glimpse at the pervasive talent in RIT’s undergraduate and graduate student population.

After being discussed by RIT's gallery coordinaters and the Dean of CIAS, logo 7 and poster 2 were chosen as the exhibition's first-ever branded materials.

The chosen poster design is meant to catch the eye and loosely represents all medias in art. The poster was distributed all around RIT's campus and helped contribute to the success of the first ever Art Out exhibition.
